This is a picture of my 97 year old mother and myself. My Mother taught me all my crafting skills, since I was a small child. She has won many awards over the years for her crafts, especially in weaving and quilting.

I retired from Nursing in 2003 and of course spend a lot of time knitting. My cousin Iva runs a gift shop in Kensington during the months of May to October (more about her and her shop later) this has proven to be quite successful.

I have created this web site not only to display my work during off season at the gift shop and make it available year around. To also include other crafts people from our beautiful Island.  Many thanks to my son Wilfred for his expertise, patience and love in helping me create this web site.

My name is Margaret Blakeney, and like my sister and mother(above) I enjoy doing many different crafts. My main craft areas are knitting, crocheting, embroidery and quilting.
 
I retired from nursing several years ago and now have much more time to enjoy my crafting.

I also display my work at Iva’s Craft Shop in Kensington during the summer months  and have some of my work on my sisters web site.

Hi my name is Iva Schurman I grew up on a farm on Prince Edward Island with 15 brothers and sisters. I am a cousin of Evelyn (above). We went to mission band in our earlier years. Evelyns mother ( my Aunt) was the leader and taught us to sew, knit and crochet etc. I love to do all three.

I did own a tourism business (cottages) that we sold a few years ago and that left me more time to do my crafts.

I also have been the manager of Kensington Craft Shop for many years and this is where I sell my crafts, I would love to have you all drop by the shop to say hi, it  is open from May to Oct,         13 Commercial St, Kensington.  Prince Edward Island.
